If you drive a foreign-registered passenger car in Georgia, compulsory third-party liability insurance is required by law. The statutory premium is set by duration, not by driver age or vehicle value. What often causes confusion is that the official premium and an online seller's customer price are not the same thing.

Official Georgian statutory TPL premiums for passenger cars
Georgian law provides these standard compulsory TPL durations and premiums for passenger cars:
- 15 days — 30 GEL
- 30 days — 50 GEL
- 90 days — 90 GEL
- 1 year — 295 GEL
Other vehicle categories have their own tariffs under the same legal framework.
Georgian APPA online prices are not the statutory premium
Georgian APPA is an independent online intermediary. The customer price shown in Georgian APPA checkout is Georgian APPA's own selling price for arranging the policy online. It should not be described as the official, statutory, government, or state premium.
Georgian APPA may offer selected online durations. If a 90-day option is not shown in checkout, that does not mean Georgian law lacks a 90-day compulsory policy. It means the online service is currently offering selected durations.
What compulsory TPL covers
Compulsory TPL is third-party liability insurance. It covers damage you cause to other people, not damage to your own vehicle. The statutory limits used by the Georgian system include:
- up to 30,000 GEL per injured person for death, disability, or health damage
- medical services up to 15,000 GEL
- total bodily-injury limit up to 300,000 GEL per event
- up to 25,000 GEL for property damage per affected person
- total property-damage limit up to 50,000 GEL per event
Practical advice before you buy
- Check the start date and end date carefully.
- Make sure the registration number and VIN match your documents.
- Keep the issued PDF available on your phone and offline if possible.
- If you need travel medical insurance as well, treat it as a separate policy requirement.
