Every foreign-registered vehicle driven in Georgia must carry Georgian compulsory third-party liability insurance for the whole time it is in the country. It is priced by vehicle type and duration, not by the car's value or your age.

Since 1 January 2026 most foreign visitors need travel medical insurance with an insured sum of at least GEL 30,000 for their whole stay. It is a separate policy from car insurance.
