Car insurance (APPA)
Go to "Cars", choose a coverage period (15 days, 1 month, or 1 year), enter your vehicle and driver details, pay securely online, and receive your digital policy by email — usually within minutes.
Yes. Under Georgian law, any foreign-registered vehicle driven within Georgia must carry compulsory third-party liability insurance for the entire time it is in the country.
It covers your civil liability toward third parties for damage caused by your vehicle within Georgia: up to 30,000 GEL per injured person for health/life damage (15,000 GEL for a health injury alone), up to 300,000 GEL total per insured event; and up to 25,000 GEL per injured party for property damage, up to 50,000 GEL total per insured event. It does not cover damage to your own vehicle.

Travel medical insurance
Starting January 1, 2026, all foreign nationals entering Georgia are required to hold a valid travel medical insurance policy that meets the minimum coverage — at least USD 5,000 for emergency outpatient care and USD 30,000 for inpatient (hospital) treatment, valid for your entire stay.
Depending on the plan you choose (coverage up to €30,000, €50,000, or €100,000), it typically includes medical expenses, assistance organization costs, medical evacuation, posthumous repatriation, personal accident insurance, civil liability, passport loss assistance, and COVID-19 related costs. Coverage is available for travelers aged 0–100.

Required documents
The policyholder’s ID or passport, the vehicle’s registration certificate, and the vehicle’s VIN, make, and model.
