Travel insurance for Georgia: the 2026 entry requirement
Since 1 January 2026, foreign visitors entering Georgia must hold travel medical insurance for their whole stay, with a single insured sum of at least GEL 30,000. The rule comes from the Law of Georgia on Tourism, applies at every border and to every nationality — including visa-free travelers and children — and border officers and airlines may ask to see the policy.
