Every foreign-registered truck, tractor unit, trailer, bus and special vehicle entering Georgia must carry Georgian compulsory third-party liability insurance (APPA/TPL) for the whole time it is in the country — including transit to Armenia or Azerbaijan. A Green Card or an insurance policy from home is not accepted. A tractor unit and its semi-trailer are two vehicles and need two policies. The policy is bought online, arrives by email as a PDF, and police check it by the number plate.

The tractor unit and the semi-trailer are registered as separate vehicles, each with its own plate and VIN, so each needs its own Georgian policy. Damage caused by a trailer attached to an insured vehicle falls within the compulsory system, but the trailer still has to be insured in its own right. Add both to the cart and pay once.
A transport company can buy in its own name: choose “Legal entity” as the policyholder and enter the company registration number. Each truck and trailer goes into the cart as its own policy, and the whole fleet is paid for in one card payment. Hauliers who cross every month usually take the one-year term, which costs far less per day than repeated 15-day policies.
